The kind of tolerance that Lao Zi advocates is not a form of conspiracy; it is not a form of opportunism; rather, it is the natural manifestation following the elimination of obsession with actions. In other words, when you are not obsessed with a lot of things, you don’t even have to tolerate them, because you do not care about them at all.
